Adidas is an iconic athletic wear brand dating back to the early 20th century. American track star Jesse Owens wore shoes made by Adidas in his medal-winning 1936 Berlin Olympics performances. The brand grew steadily throughout the 1950s and branched into the fields of creating soccer balls and athletic wear. However, the running shoes remain legendary to this day.
In fact, when Sabastion Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha both famously broke the 2-hour marathon mark for the first time in the 2026 London Marathon, both athletes were sporting Adidas sneakers. So with more eyes turning towards Adidas shoes, our review team took a closer look at some of the top running shoes from this iconic brand.
Our Review Process

Our Marathon Sports team members and reviewers tested numerous pairs of Adidas running shoes to evaluate all the options and determine which models were the best of the best in 2026.
Our review process is simple. Our team members lace up the running shoes and put them to the test. They assess the shoe’s performance, comfort, fit, durability, and a variety of other factors so we can relay the best possible information about every shoe.
Across different types of runs on different terrains, our runners unanimously decided on this collection of the top 5 Adidas running shoes. Here’s your guide to these top shoes and who would benefit from each model.
The Best Adidas Running Shoes of 2026
- Adidas Adizero Evo SL
- Adidas Supernova Rise 3
- Adidas Supernova Prima 2
- Adidas Adizero Boston 13
- Adidas Adios Pro 4
Adidas Adizero Evo SL
The Adizero Evo SL is an everyday trainer designed to help you push your limits for that next PR. One of the shoe’s most outstanding features is the Lightstrike Pro midsole, which is comfortable and supportive yet extremely lightweight and responsive.
The breathable mesh upper allows for optimal air circulation, keeping feet cool, even on hot summer runs. The shoe’s padded tongue and heel add to the shoe’s plush feel, while the outsole is durable and grippy.
Our reviewers also appreciated the stylish, classic look of the Adizero Evo SL.The Adizero Evo SL is a shoe our reviewers think you’ll love wearing on both short or long-distance runs as well as around town.
Adidas Supernova Rise 3
We don’t often think of adidas as a “soft daily trainer” brand, which is why the Supernova 3 feels a bit out of character. That’s not to say we don’t like it, though. There’s a definite increase in cushioning, particularly beneath the heel, and it makes for much easier long runs.
The update to Dreamstrike+ foam (PEBA-blend) is the big change. It runs full-length now, and there’s more of it (about 37 mm in the heel / 29 mm forefoot with an 8 mm drop). It’s comfortable, no question, but the rebound is still pretty mild. You’re don’t get that Lightstrike Pro snap.
The platform is wide through the back, which is good for stability. Heel strikers will probably like how planted it feels. There’s also a bit more rocker this time.
Our reviewers were a bit mixed on the fit. The toe box has decent room, but the midfoot pulls in tighter. If you have wider feet, take that into account. However, we really love how thin and breathable the Primeweave upper is.
It’s a solid middle-of-the-road shoe that’s soft and stable enough for longer runs, but not totally built for speed.
Adidas Supernova Prima 2
Amidst Adidas’ impressive lineup this year, the Supernova Prima 2 stands out with its unique features and plush cushioning. Meticulously engineered, it embodies the epitome of comfort, support, and performance in running shoes.
The key to its exceptional performance lies in the revolutionary Dreamstrike+ foam midsole. This technology provides unmatched cushioning and energy response with each stride. The Support Rods in the midsole, made from a Lightstrike EVA blend, further enhances the Prima 2’s unique balance of plush comfort and firm support, catering to both casual daily miles and long distance runs.
The soft and pliable Primeweave upper ensures a snug yet breathable fit, enhancing overall comfort and lockdown during runs. Meanwhile, the durable Lighttraxion outsole, a symbol of Adidas’ reliability, offers dependable traction and longevity, enabling confident strides on various terrains.
With its blend of cutting-edge technology, luxurious comfort, and unwavering performance, the Adidas Supernova Prima 2 is setting new standards for what runners can expect from Adidas’ footwear innovations.
Adidas Adizero Boston 13
The Adizero Boston 13 is yet another high-performance, long-distance running shoe from Adidas. It’s designed to be your go-to marathon runner with Adidas’ most advanced technology, providing comfort, traction, and speed.
You’ll appreciate the Adizero Boston 13 for long-distance running because the full-length Lightstrike Pro and Lighstrike EVA cushioning offer optimal comfort, impact protection, and responsiveness. The lightweight, breathable mesh upper allows air to circulate throughout the shoe, keeping feet from becoming overly warm and sweaty. An anatomically designed heel cup and adjustable lacing system securely hold feet in place.
Another standout feature in the Adizero Boston 13 is the glass-fiber-infused ENERGYRODS 2.0 technology. This unique running shoe tech reduces underfoot energy loss while increasing propulsion.
A durable rubber Continental™ outsole offers traction that remains grippy, even on rainy running days. Reflective features and a variety of bright colorways ensure visibility day and night. The Boston 13 is the ideal running shoe for anyone who has the Boston Marathon® or other long-distance racing events on their bucket list.
Like many other Adidas models for 2026, the Boston 13 features materials made from 20 percent recycled content. Adidas is on a mission to reduce plastic waste, and that’s something every runner can appreciate.
Adidas Adios Pro 4
Our reviewers found the Adios Pro 4 one of the best running shoes of 2026 for its impressive technology, snug fit, and attractive look. The Lightstrike Pro foam cushioning in the midsole provides shock absorption to prevent pain or injuries on hard landings. It also offers a light, energetic feel for fast-paced running.
Performance comes from the midsole as well as the ENERGYRODS 2.0 technology. The carbon-infused rods within the midsole convert energy into forward motion. Transitions feel quick and effortless, even after numerous miles of running. Our reviewers appreciated that the Adios Pro 4 feels responsive and remarkably comfortable to prevent foot fatigue and help runners go farther.
The Adidas Adios Pro 4 features even more technology in the breathable LightLock upper, which naturally contours to your foot and allows for optimal air circulation to keep feet cool. Sweaty, uncomfortable feet can cut a run short, but that doesn’t happen with the partially recycled engineered mesh upper.
This is one of the best long distance racing shoes from Adidas, and it has caught the eye of countless amateur and professional runners. Numerous bright colorways for men and women make this an excellent shoe for training in light or dark conditions, rain or shine.
