HOKA held nothing back when designing the ultimate race-day partner, the Cielo X1, focusing solely on factors that enhanced its ride. The eye is immediately drawn to the midsole’s unique geometry and dynamic cutouts that help reduce the overall weight and have you feeling light on your feet. This two-layer midsole is crafted with a PEBA-based foam that feels soft underfoot and offers high energy return.
The shape of the HOKA Cielo X1 midsole has also been carefully designed with an aggressive rocker shape that encourages forward motion and guides you forward. Sandwiched within the resilient midsole you’ll find a winged carbon-fiber plate that helps stabilize your experience and creates a propulsive feeling as you toe off.
Up top you’ll find immediate comfort as you lace up and experience the comfortable and secure knit upper. This upper uses an asymmetrical, gusseted tongue to reduce tongue migration and create a locked-in fit with easy entry. To reduce weight even further, the Cielo X1 uses minimal outsole rubber, eliminating unnecessary weight while giving you premium traction.

No pain
I’ve had two back surgeries and Hoka Cielo x1 help my back as I walk. Yes I know it’s a running shoe. The cushioning when you step, the bounce, the forward movement of the running shoe help me through my day.

Love These Shoes!
I ran a half marathon in the Cielo X1 and loved everything about them. The rocker propelled me forward and helped me feel fast. They were also perfectly comfortable and gave me zero blisters.

Awesome running shoes!
Was looking for new running shoes to help with knee pains while running. These shoes really help. Super cushioning and helps reduce the stress on my joints. Love the colors also. Thinking of getting another pair in another color that I like.

HOKA Cielo X1
This is a race day shoe, not an everyday trainer. If you want a shoe that propels you forward, and are looking for a snug fit at your normal size, this is it. I like it because it’s a lockdown fit at my regular size, but if you want a little more room, I suggest sizing a half size up. Otherwise excellent race shoe, definitely not a stability shoe but it meets it’s purpose quite nicely

One of the best fitting shoes I have, too bad it’s not a daily trainer. As a race shoe, it has everything I need - very light, bouncy propulsion, nice forward rocking motion, all the things that I need for race day.

From a Person Who Wears Nike's
I found my long runs enjoyable in these with a very nice propulsion. I even took these out in a light rain and did not feel like water seeped deeply. I normally am a Nike head. They are not as bouncy as Alphafly’s but they feel lighter. The Alpha’s gave me issues because of the high arch. I had to put new soles in to avoid blistering. These shoes are more flat and feel comfortable for feet like mine. I wear a 9.5 in Nike’s. I wear a 9 for this. My real critique is the laces: You really have to double tie them with emphasis so they don’t unravel. I was going to change them but I figure these are at least $20 laces. First entry to the Hoka world and I approve.

Cool, looking shoe but…..
I think the shoe that I received from my order online was defected because when I tried the shoe on in the store, it felt completely different. The one I received felt wobbly compared to the one on the store that felt awesome. Everything is great about the shoe except for possibly the sturdiness and the laces on the shoe are a little ridiculous!
