A Classic Daily Trainer That Can Handle Every Mile
The Topo Phantom 3 is the latest resurgence of the high-cushion daily trainer and is decked out with a ton of cool features. This version even shaved off an entire ounce of weight while maintaining the same stack height. To achieve this, Topo revamped its Zipfoam™ midsole composition of the shoe, giving it a softer foot feel while offering a stable ride.
As you take your first step in the shoe you’ll notice the immediate comfort of the Ortholite® insole. These insoles offer you resilient comfort and feature antimicrobial properties, helping keep away odor caused by bacteria.
Moving down the shoe we have the updated, multi-density Zipfoam™ midsole. The top layer of Zipfoam™ is soft and resilient so it feels comfortable underfoot while the bottom layer is a firmer, cupped platform that brings a little stability to the shoe.
One of the most beloved features Topo running shoes have is a larger anatomical toe box and the Phantom 3 continues this tradition. So if you’re a runner with a wider foot this is a great option.
To top it all off, the Phantom 3 continues Topos sustainability initiatives with a single mesh upper made in part with recycled materials. About 30% of the upper contains recycled content, or three 16oz water bottles. Another creative way we can lower our overall carbon footprint.
If you’re in the market for a daily trainer that’s fairly lightweight and soft but not too soft, you can’t go wrong with the Topo Phantom 3.
Features & Benefits:
- Anatomical toe box allows toes to spread naturally and comfortably
- Ortholite® Insoles provide comfortable step-in and antimicrobial properties
- Mesh upper is lightweight, breathable, and made up of 30% recycled materials
- Multi-density midsole gives you two levels of cushioning underfoot
- Updated Zipfoam™ midsole foam offers lightweight and responsive cushioning
- Granted the APMA (American Podiatric Medical Association) Seal of Acceptance and Seal of Approval

Super Comfortable Shoe
Love this shoe — my 3rd pair of the Phantom 3 over the past 12+ months. Fits like a glove and has helped with my recovery from a foot injury.

Great Shoe
I love the wide toe box and small drop. I have mid foot and toe arthritis. I have tried so many different brands, and these work the best for my feet. I wear these with an over the counter insert. They have good support and comfort and work well for my everyday shoe.

Nice roomy toe box
I like the roomy toe box! I'm used to zero drop shoes (which i prefer) but this small lift is fine. I had to go a half size smaller than my usual for some reason. I haven't tried other topo models, so I'm not sure if its just the phantom 3 or all-around. I'd be willing to try other Topos too!

I love these shoes. They feel great, lots of toe room and they also look nice. I highly recommend

Topo has changed
Topos have changed. They’ve become more narrow in the toes and changed the heals. I previously had 3 different pairs and they were all great. The new versions of both the ultrafly and phantoms are uncomfortable and for me, not working for long wear. If you have an older pair try on a new pair rather than just recording you won’t get the same great shoe you previously had and read the reviews on topos website first too. 5 stars for marathon sports exchange program.

Tinted sole is stiffer
I love my black upper/white sole pair of Topo Phantom 3s, so I thought I'd buy another in purple/blue. In the picture, the sole looked white, but when it arrived the sole was pale purple. Unfortunately, the tinted sole is MUCH stiffer than the white one. I'm disappointed with the purchase.
