Great SpeedGoat update
The recent update for the HOKA SpeedGoat7 is a very good one. I am a long time SG user and after buying a pair for myself, I quickly bought my wife and trail running partner a pair too. The nagging too short tongue problem has finally been addressed. Hoka also addressed hard irresponsive ride complaints raised for the SpeedGoat6 by adding some quite lively material to the midsole. This is not only protective but encourages a ROLLING gait on the trail somehow, without making the the shoe feel too high and unstable. An interesting feel for a trail shoe and overall the SG7 feels responsive and fast. Some reviewers commented on it being a bit narrow; I have a wide high instep foot and went with the wide version (as usual) -I have had no significant issues so far. Because of my wide feet, I usually blow through the sides of my trail shoes before the sole is worn out. The SG7's are too new for me to comment on upper durability yet but they do seem to be beefed up relative to prior versions.... time will tell.
