Supercharged to Create a Super Energetic Running Experience

The Asics Superblast 2 is without a doubt one of this year’s most anticipated running shoes and the wait is finally over. The Superblast 2 keeps the best parts from the original Superblast and changes only a few things, embracing an ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ approach. The most notable change is the overhaul of the midsole.

Previously made with FF Blast™ Plus and FF Blast™ Turbo, the new Superblast 2 now features FF Blast™ Plus Eco and FF Turbo™ Plus. The top layer is Asic’s lightest and most responsive cushioning available, giving this performance running shoe the energetic feeling it’s known for. On the bottom layer, you’ll find the eco-friendly midsole foam that adds bounce and rebound to each step while lowering the overall carbon footprint.

When you lace up you’ll notice the woven engineered mesh upper, adding a bit of stretch and flexibility to its construction. This material helps increase airflow to keep your feet feeling cool while also offering a soft and comfortable fit. To increase comfort and fit even more, the Superblast 2 utilizes a gusseted tongue with wing fit system. This design improves midfoot fit and helps reduce the chances of the tongue sliding and moving around while you’re running.

The Asics Superblast 2 features a trampoline-inspired outsole design, providing a responsive rebound to each step. Where the rubber meets the road you’ll notice the ASICSGRIP™ outsole, a unique propriety outsole from Asics that greatly improves outsole durability while adding much-needed traction.

Toebox very narrow & the shoes run small

First off, I loved the Vital Green color!! They even had sparkles on the lower part of the shoe which was a wonderful surprise. They were a lot stiffer than I was used to and not that much cushion. The rocker bouncy part of them was new to me as well. When I ran in them, it felt like they made a lot of friction on the insides of my feet which felt like it would become a hot spot for a blister for a long run. I always wear an 8.5 in women's which is a 7 in mens/ unisex and have 4 other Asics models right now in that size that work great for me. The superblast 2s are very narrow in the toebox and run small. They felt tight right away and when I ran in them I could feel my left outside toes going numb after 3 miles and I could feel my toes touching the front of the shoe, so I had to return them. I have heard that the Superblast 3s have made all of the adjustments to what I wasn't pleased with the Superblast 2s (more comfort, less stiff, and a slightly wider toe box). I didn't like the shoelaces that came with the shoes either, they were the waxy kind that come undone easily, so I had ordered some lime green cotton flat laces that I was going to swap with those, but since I returned them I never got a chance to switch them. I am going to go up a half size and I hope they work better for me. The only disappointing part is that the color options for the Superblast 3s aren't anywhere as cute as the Vital Green color and I don't know if I will get any Sparkles.

Best all around

SB2 continues to be the best all rounder in my opinion. Protects my feet on long miles and fast enough. I’ll be looking forward to trying out the SN3 soon

Bouncy and sturdy

Good long run trainer. I find my lower body weaknesses come out when I wear them which is not necessarily a bad thing, just I don’t think theyre the most beginner friendly shoe. Definitely want to use for those key long run sessions at least for me.

Rounding out the collection

I love the Asics Superblast 2 as a no-plate option for long runs, and quite frankly, daily runs too. They are sturdy and stable without being too stiff to go long and springy for shorter runs when I want a bit of pop that isn’t too aggressive. Loved them so much I also bought in green. Filling out the rotation for marathon and 70.3 training this year!

Perfect zero-plate option for long (or any) run

I love the Asics Superblast 2 as a no-plate option for long runs, and quite frankly, daily runs too. They are sturdy and stable without being too stiff to go long and springy for shorter runs when I want a bit of pop that isn’t too aggressive.
