A New Take on Altra’s Comfortable and Efficient Stability Shoe
Formerly the Experience Form, Altra’s moderate-cushion light stability shoe is new and improved as the Experience Flow ST. Despite the new name, Altra’s latest stability upgrade delivers the same natural feel, low 4mm drop, and subtle, non-obtrusive stability system as its predecessor.
While the Experience Form featured a firm, compression-molded EVA foam, the Experience Flow ST graduates to Altra’s EGO P35 midsole foam, a softer and more responsive performance-oriented cushioning. This bouncy, responsive foam is paired with a pronounced rocker shape to keep you moving forward throughout daily miles or uptempo runs.
The Experience Flow ST is the more supportive counterpart to the neutral Experience Flow, providing gentle support and guidance for runners who overpronate. In the Experience Flow ST, this support takes the form of a medial GuideRail that offers mild correction without feeling stiff, obtrusive, or overly supportive.
On top of the foot, the upper also got some redesigns for maximum step-in comfort. The mesh material is soft and breathable, and the reworked heel collar provides a secure fit without adding any excess weight. Finally, while the 4mm drop is a departure from Altra’s standard 0mm drop shoes, the brand stays true to its roots with a roomy Standard FootShape toe box and a natural, grounded ride.
