Maximum Energy Return in a Propulsive Racing Shoe
Start your next race off strong in the updated New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5, an ultra-light carbon-plated racing shoe that helps you perform at your best. New Balance utilizes years of research, and working with top athletes to perfect this next-generation race-day shoe.
The FuelCell midsole is made with 100% PEBA foam and contains a full-length carbon fiber plate, increasing stiffness and overall propulsion. Energy Arc technology blends sports-specific carbon fiber plate geometry with strategic cutouts in the midsole foam, reducing overall weight while maximizing energy return.
The SuperComp Elite v5 features an updated outsole that’s about 1.7 mm thick, creating superior traction on the road while increasing overall durability. Wrapping the foot is the FantomFit upper, made with a single-layer mesh construction to bring you top-tier breathability while offering a secure fit.

First Pair of Carbon Plated Shoes
I love these shoes! They have a wide toe box and are very comfortable. They are a race shoe so they are slightly narrow but wider than any others I have tried. I normally wear an 11.5 but went with a 12 to avoid losing toe nails on race day. I highly recommend these!!

Jack of All Trades
I love this shoe. It’s a jack of all trades. Of course it does the job in races, but it’s also great on speed days, and even tempo sessions. The fit is exceptionally comfortable for a race shoe, and the value is phenomenal.

Solid option
Felt good on mid length runs, didn’t work for me on longer efforts.
