I purchased the Hoka Gaviota 5 online. It arrived very quickly, and the sneakers were in great condition.

Comfy
It took me a while to embrace the look of a Hoka, and I’m happy I did because these are so comfy! I needed more support for my collapsing arch. These fit the bill plus the added cushion is amazing. Definitely recommend.

Excellent Shoe and Customer Support
So far so good. It’s only been a couple days but no complaints. Very comfortable. I was having a lot of pain with my previous shoes (Nike), but significantly less pain with these Hoka’s. I did have a mid foot fusion about a year and a half ago. This is my first time wearing/buying the Hoka brand. I am satisfied, good support. I do have custom orthotics to help with my specific needs.

Grear shoe, fast shipping
The Gaviota 5 is a fantastic shoe, well cushioned, and has stability for those who need it. Have climbed multiple Colorado 14ers in the shoes, although the traction isn’t the best but the shoe is so good I wear them anyway. So sad it’s being discontinued

Good Stabilizing shoe
Good stability shoe for walking. Not too much of a rocker. I've used it for run and walk, it's better for walking.

Exactly the right shoes

Great Sneaker
The women’s Hoka Gaviota 5 is a great sneaker! It takes pressure off my toes and gives them plenty of “breathing” room. The sneaker feels like it was made for my foot. There’s even a second top eyelet that accommodates my narrow ankle. A pleasure to wear!

Great shoes, great customer service
HOKA Gaviota 5 shoes are the best walking shoe I ever had. (My running days are over, alas.) The fit, support, and comfort are all excellent. These were the third pair I bought following a restyling that made the front of the shoe work much better for the ball of my foot.

Perfect!
Gaviota 5 is THE best & most comfortable of all the Hoka’s! I can wear them all day & do not even want to take them off at night! I have great difficulty with all shoes, so I am “living” in these.
Jennifer
Love my new sneakers. Order them and they showed up a few days later.

Good fit and support, iffy durability
This is the sixth pair of Hokas that I have purchased since early 2024. Each time I have liked the nice wide toebox contrasted by a narrow, padded heel counter that conforms to my "duck feet" My 60-year-old bony, "low volume" feet now have bilateral bunions, yet I have a skinny narrow heel that has ALWAYS slipped out of my shoes. Plus, I have extremely HIGH arches that need to be supported. This shoe fits the bill on both fronts. I can do the "runners lace" and tie them very tightly as I have done for many years, and I do not have the "heel slip" problem. Plus, the heel counter is beautifully padded to add volume around my skinny achilles area. My foot stays anchored. That, and the padding is superb, especially in the forefoot. The 6mm drop is spot on. I hate a high drop because it puts stress on my hips and knees. I am giving this shoe four stars because of durability. Each pair has worn down VERY QUICKLY, and I weigh less than 120 lbs so it is not my weight. Plus, I am not running but walking. It could be my irregular gait, but I think it is also the reinforcement on the blown rubber bottom. Bottom line is, my comfort and joints are too valuable to me, so I will continue to order this shoe and just bite the bullet financially and order them more frequently.

Hoka Gaviota 5
I love these; this is my second pair. The blue color is a nice neutral. I use them for walking and the gym. They are Very comfortable but unfortunately they do not last. I love them for about 3 months and then they go downhill. The $175 price point is a challenge on my fixed budget. I’m hoping they come down in price soon.

Might not be for me (but marathon sports was great!)
I got these hoping they'd be a more economical replacement for my Asics Gel Kayanos but this may not be the right substitute. I loved these up for a long easy run and a couple miles in, started feeling the start of a blister on my right arch. I'll give them a couple more tries to see if it's just an issue of not having broken these shoes in, but I'm accepting that this may have been a misfire on my part. The good news is purchasing from marathon sports was great! Competitive prices and quick delivery!

Uncomfortable Fit
The shoe did not fit me right and rubbed my arch uncomfortably. I was surprised because my Hokas (Clifton and Bondi) were great. I returned them to the store and will get a new pair of Bondis in the spring. I love HOkas over all!

Not for flat feet
The Gaviota is a gorgeous shoe, but my feet immediately were in pain when trying them on. My feet are overpronated and I could feel the shape of the shoe’s arch area pressing in my soles. It slight weight which I thought was nice, but instead when I put it on, it felt like cushion was missing. This shoe does not come wide so if you have plantar fasciitis and flat feet, I would not recommend.

needs more of a heel
The heel seems lower then the front of the footbed so I feel like I'm falling backwards.
