ASICS Metaspeed Sky Tokyo

They’re extremely comfortable, especially after putting a lot of miles on them and running a couple of marathons. My feet never feel beat up, and neither does my body. Even after a marathon, I feel like I recover pretty quickly and within a couple of days, I’m ready to run again. I’d honestly put these shoes up there with the best of the best. Even if you’re on the fence or you’ve never tried a carbon-plated shoe before, I would highly recommend giving these a shot. The comfort, protection, and recovery alone make them worth it.

These shoes are great for all distances. I’d race a 5k through marathon in them, and they are fantastic for workout days too. I will be racing my next half marathon in them!

This shoe has been fantastic! I gave both this and the Edge Tokyo a try and ended up deciding on the Edge for race day, but I would have no qualms about taking this one out there as well. I was a Sky Paris user, so I was a little surprised that I preferred the Edge for this generation!

I bought this shoe specifically for track racing, and they delivered! Bouncy, light, FAST. I was able to break 5:00 min in a mile race largely because of these shoes.

I ordered it for my cousin because she saw me wearing it and got jealous. I’m glad it came right on time. Marathon sports has been my go to online store to shop my running shoes that I wanted and they never dissapoint.

The Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris was my favorite marathon racing shoe, and the Metaspeed Sky Tokyo just improves upon it. It's a very lightweight, responsive, and comfortable racing shoe. Highly recommend!

This is my first time owning a carbon plate racer, though I’ve demoed other brands and models at my local run club. Overall, the fit is great. The upper can look slightly wrinkled on my feet, but I never have to tighten the laces much. I’ve used this shoe without socks in a sprint triathlon with no issues, and I’ve also taken it on training runs at half marathon pace (my race is in two months). So far, so good! I’m really loving the bounce. It feels a little unstable when walking around and might not be ideal for warmups depending on your pace. ASICS has really been on fire with their shoes recently, and I’m excited to see what else they have coming.

this is my first experience with a modern plated running shoe, and so far so good! A little about me: male, 6', 160lb, mid/forefoot striker, HM PB is 1:35 For shoe comparisons, on training runs, I have been using the superblast 2 and for recovery runs the Mizuno Neo Vista. I’ve only put about 15 miles on the sky Tokyo so far to break it in before my next half marathon race coming up, so keep that in mind. The sky Tokyo is crazy light, and is most comfortable and exciting at higher paces, given my stride. In this way it is somewhat similar to my experience of the superblast 2 - except with the sky Tokyo the energy return is noticeably greater, at the cost of feeling stiffer. I have noticed that my knee knees and shin splints acted up a little more than usual after speed workouts in the sky Tokyo, but not to a detrimental degree. I saw on the Internet people saying other versions of the Meta speed run a little tight - my foot is pretty close to the end in my superblasts, so I went up a half size. This may not have been necessary, however - having scaled up, my sky Tokyo’s are a little roomy in the toebox, but not terribly so.. my guess is that this iteration is pretty much TTS for asics. the upper is very breathable, and minimalist. overall, I'm happy w them and looking forward to racing

Amazing plated shoe, this thing really wants to go fast. Haven't put many miles on it yet so I can't speak to the durability too much, and it does seem a little flimsy, but I feel like that's the nature of these lightweight racers, it certainly doesn't seem any worse than any others out there. Great ride, comfortable through the finish line. I didn't feel like I was getting as much energy return as I would have liked since the whole "Sky = longer stride" really appealed to me and I'm a textbook strider, but also wasn't really paying enough attention to it, and was really just thrilled by how comfortable they were for being so plated and stacked.

Good squish in the foam that’s fun to run in, outsole good on wet surfaces. Tbd if I should be using the edge or the sky but bought the sky and enjoyed the ride
