ASICS Metaspeed Edge Tokyo

Wild ride. These want to go fast, and hold up well for the marathon distance. Had some issues with them off-gassing when new. Had to leave them out to air. Not sure what kind of plastic they are using for the upper but it smelled noxious out of the box. I guess that's the price you pay for the insane lightness of these.

This shoe has some great pop and is so light! It's a great race day option. It's really breathable too, which is great with warmer temps.

Wore these out of the box and set a big half marathon PR. Green looks great, shoe feels light and fast. Found my Boston race day shoe

Just the best. I'm not sure I feel the fastest when I put them on. For example, the Adios Pro 4 feel faster on foot out of the box. But, when I start moving...and especially after 10+ miles, these shoes feel like nothing. They don't take on sweat, they keep me flying. I love them.

This shoe is incredible. I already loved the Edge Paris (previous version), and this shoe just added a bouncier and lighter ride. I can take this shoe for my easy pace and it doesn’t feel clunky at all. In fact, and slower paces, it feels bouncier and more fun. When you pick up the pace though, the shoe firms up and gives you the response you need from a super shoe, all while still being incredibly comfortable and stable. 1000% recommend this shoe.

The ASICS Metaspeed Edge Tokyo is a superb choice for runners who increase cadence rather than stride length when chasing speed.

Very comfortable fast and ride!

I thought I had my NYC Marathon shoe selected after my first few runs in the Adios Pro 4 but after my first true long run, the midsole turned out to be too soft for my weight and I could feel the foam fatigue. Great shoe, love the feel but it is now relegated to runs under 12 miles. I decided to give the Edge Tokyo a try and with some trepidation, I set made the purchase from Marathon Sports and a few days later, I set out on an 18 mile Saturday long run (I don't recommend doing that for a first run) and the shoe and foam felt great. Clearly its a light shoe and it disappears on the feet and the upper has been comfortable, the shoe fit true to size and I can now report that I have several long runs completed up to 20 miles and they have performed well for every pace and distance. I have found it stable and as a heel striker the Edge Tokyo serves me well and I have no qualms in recommending this shoe.

While I ultimately think my strike pattern more fits with the Sky Tokyo, this is still an amazing racer. This would be my go to pick for >half marathon distances or if I wanted a bit more stability in the heel.

I ran a 18:56 5k in these and I loved them. Worked much better for my stride than the Meta speed Sky. Effortlessly fast.

I tried these out on a few different runs: strides, tempo, and long run with quality. Initially these felt good during the strides and tempo where things felt effortless. When I tried them out for an extended period of time, I experienced terrible arch pain.
