A Low-Offset Trail Shoe Offering a Natural Running Experience

Altra raises the stakes and the offset with the new Altra Experience Wild, a lightweight trail shoe to support your offroad endeavors. Decked out with a grippy MaxTrac™ outsole, there’s no terrain this trail runner can’t handle.

Making up the midsole you’ll find a compression-molded EVA foam, giving you lightweight cushioning with a responsive feel. The underfoot experience this creates works well for whatever your day calls for, easy miles as well as up-tempo miles. The layer of cushioning underfoot balances out to a 4 mm offset, making this Altra’s first non-zero-drop trail shoe.

You should be able to rely on your running shoes when you’re on the trail, that’s why Altra incorporated a MaxTrac™ outsole to provide premium traction on various surfaces. This outsole material is incredibly durable and helps increase the longevity of your Experience Wild trail shoes.

If you’re looking for more protection, the strategic no-sew overlays in the upper offer additional toe protection from whatever debris you may encounter. There’s also a GaiterTrap™ detail to attach a Trail Gaiter for next-level defense.

Altra has been known for their roomy toe boxes and they continue this technology in the Experience Wild. The Altra signature FootShape™ fit allows room for your toes to spread naturally while still securing your midfoot.

Great Shoes

A little more cushion than my usual (Torin) but equally comfortable.

cool shoes, bad for knees

the shoes are great, very nice looking and with some cushion. I got them as I didn't want to use my Saucony Guide on trails, but something about them made my knees worse. maybe it just wasn't a fit. would definitely recommend as long as you don't have knee issues.
