Hello, Everyone!
Would ya look at that – four weeks of training completed! Eight to go until race day. Yikes. The next few weeks are going to cruise on by.
Week 4 was full of rainy and foggy weather. The temperature was all over the place too. As low as 35* and as high as 47*. I am hopeful that training during these weather shifts and temperature swings will be helpful come April. Cross your fingers for me, please!
Hill work is becoming my favorite part of training. I found a beautiful, quiet neighborhood that is freshly paved and packed with hills. The adidas Energy Boost has been great to me as I run up and down along these hills.
My schedule was a little out of whack for Week 4. Due to work and family responsibilities, I was only able to run 4 days, not my usual 5. Rather than panic, I adjusted my daily mileage the days that I was running. I ran 5 on Monday, 6 on Wednesday, and 7 on Thursday. In hindsight, I probably should have done 5-7-6.
For my long run on Saturday, I laced up the adidas Ultra Boost for the second time and headed out for a sunny 14-miler. I did a few miles on the road, a few on a paved bike path, and ran to a Windmill for some gorgeous scenery.
The Ultra Boost provides a good amount of cushion without being overbearing.
In true New England fashion, the wind continues to blow even when the sun is out! I’ve been wearing these great headbands from adidas to cover my ears. They’re just the right thickness to protect from the wind on warmer days.
Remember to check out my recipe for homemade chocolate syrup. It mixes up so well for a post-run recovery drink. (And, doesn’t taste too bad over ice cream either.)
Until next time, make it a great day!
