    Johns Story:

October 2019. John Brennan (13), suffered a brain hemorrhage at home while doing his homework. Saving his life came down to minutes and it has been touch-and-go many time since. John was not expected to survive, but he is a fighter. After multiple surgeries and many weeks in the ICU at Boston Children’s Hospital, he continues his road to recovery at Spaulding Rehab, a world class facility. John continues to amaze his medical team!

John has a long road of recovery, and the long-term prognosis is promising thanks to continuous prayers being said around the world, his amazing medical teams, and the never-ending commitment, love and devotion of his parents.
Since October, John’s family has maintained a daily presence with John. Being there every day, a critical part of his recovery. John’s medical teams can’t stress enough how important family involvement is for his recovery. This is paramount to provide John the best outcome possible.

John’s family and friends want to give him the best shot at coming home, returning to school, and making Eagle Scout with Troop 9. While feeling blessed to have access to simply the world’s best care in Boston, the shortcomings of insurance, the cost of quality rehabilitation, and the long-term needs are staggering. Your kind donations can offset these shortcomings.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support for Bill, Caroline, Cate and John during this difficult journey.
    Love,
    The Friends of John Brennan

    Race Details

Duxbury Half Marathon is Now Virtual!

This pandemic is changing our lives in so many ways.  But we can still run!  We can no longer hold our race here in town on August 29th as we had hoped.  But runners can still train and complete a half marathon run.  Notify us and we will send you your bib and medal.  Please run 13.1 miles, anywhere and any time before Sept. 15, 2020.  Please send us some sort of “proof” of your run (a mileage tracking device photo or similar).   This way you still support our Duxbury Senior Center and all its wonderful programs, both virtual and in person when that time comes again!

We are also offering refunds or deferrals to our April 3, 2021 race for those already registered.  Send an email to [email protected] by 6/29/20 with any requests or questions.  Also check out our Facebook page to register or for more information.  Have a great “Virtual” run!

    5K – 10K – 1/2 MARATHON
    SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2020
    7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

At this time we are planning to hold an in person race on September 12th.  We are following the phased re-opening plan carefully.  Road races are part of Phase 4 which is scheduled to begin on July 20th.  We understand that many people want to run an in person race and we will absolutely do that if both state and local guidelines will allow it.

We are opening online registration as an in person event with the understanding that at some point we may need to change to a full virtual event.   Please keep all of this in mind when you are registering as we do have a no refund policy.

Should we be able to hold an in person event, we will also be offering a virtual option for those who would like to participate and support The Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth but are not comfortable participating at an in person event even if guidelines allow.
