People at risk of domestic violence – the people you support through your Hot Chocolate Run fundraising efforts – face even greater dangers during this pandemic. As access to family and friends has been restricted, people at risk of violence are also  having to spend more time in the presence of their abusers.

Participants join us year after year to spend time with family and friends, run a challenging 5K course with serious competitors, enjoy hot chocolate, and most importantly, to support Safe Passage and our important programs for survivors of domestic violence.

The Hot Chocolate Run is a season-long series of activities and community connection. Be part of a caring community raising money and sending a powerful message of love and support to survivors of domestic violence.

    Event Information
    The Jog for Joy 5K
In 2019 Highrock MetroWest Church hosted a 5K fun run in support of mental health resources for teens and a rockin’ party to celebrate. We raised enough money to sustain Youth Mental Health First Aid courses offered locally for several years, and we partnered with people from all over to spread a little light into a dark season.

The following year, Highrock MetroWest joined with sister churches around Greater Boston as well as online to host a The Virtual Jog for Joy 5K supporting SIX amazing organizations that are providing care for teenagers and families facing challenges to their mental health.

In those first two years we donated over $40,000 to mental health resources for teens!

This year we’re back IN PERSON at Highrock MetroWest! On December 5th join us for a classic 5K race experience with professional timing, pre and post race snacks and warming stations, and some holiday fun for the whole family! We’d love to have you join as a participant OR volunteer in hosting the event. For those who can’t make it in person, register as a virtual participant, do your jog during the week of December 5th – December 12th, and support the cause from wherever you are!

Whether you walk, jog, roll, or stroll, you’ll be supporting each of the following organizations:

    Arlington Youth Counseling (Arlington, MA)
Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Cambridge, MA)
Families for Depression Awareness (National resource based in Waltham, MA)
    Interfaith Social Services (Quincy, MA)
Needham Youth and Family Services (Needham, MA)
NuPath, Inc. (Regional resource based in Woburn, MA)

Get your bib number, hat, and other goodies (and avoid the line on race day) on Saturday, December 4, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Marathon Sports in Wellesley and enjoy 20% off in the store while you’re there!

Bibs will also be available Sunday, December 5th beginning at 11:30am at Highrock MetroWest at the registration table.
