A Propulsive Road-Racer that’s Built for Speed
Finely tuned for race day, the HOKA Cielo X1 2.0 is designed to get you to the finish line as fast as possible. Several updates are seen when compared to the previous version including a redesigned upper, a bouncier-feeling midsole, and the loss of around an ounce in weight.
The first thing we have to talk about is the midsole because it’s a noticeable update. The dual-density PEBA midsole foam combined with the winged carbon-fiber plate is the star of the show, absorbing impact and propelling you forward through the gait cycle. It also features a more aggressive rocker profile, focusing on one thing: speed.
In the previous version, the upper left a bit to be desired but the Cielo X1 2.0 flips the script. Redesigned with an engineered mesh with 3D overlays, the upper fits more comfortably, feeling lighter and more breathable than ever. After lacing up you’ll notice the warp knit tongue sitting comfortably on top of the foot, made with 100% recycled polyester. To finish things off, the outsole sports sticky rubber for traction as well as visible strategic cuts into the midsole. The sticky rubber handles wonderfully on the road while the cutouts help to reduce overall weight.

Race day shoe
After trying every carbon plated shoe, this is the one that suits my running dynamic perfectly as a mid food striker. The rocker is insanely fast and takes away a lot of landing pressure to roll forward more quickly. It’s a big plus that it’s much more durable compared to other race shoes like the alphafly.

I absolutely love them, they are bouncy fast and comfortable. Got a PB first time wearing them for the Jersey City Marathon

Most fun carbon shoe to date
I am obsessed with the new Hoka racing shoes. This is the most comfortable carbon plated shoe I have ever worn and I love the bounce. It’s responsive and not too soft. I have told everyone I know this is my favorite shoe ever. Big statement, but I mean it!

Highly cushioned marathon pacer
Pros: excellently cushioned, fantastic fit, great for marathon pace. Decent weight too. Hoka’s best carbon plated racer by far. Potential Cons: Feels less at home pushing up to 5K/10K pace, will probably be very unstable if you are heel or rear foot striker, does feel pretty different from version 1 of this shoe (which is much heavier but also pretty stable)

HOKA Cielo X1 2.0
Definitely need time to get use to it because of the shape. From using them for just one run, I have to say that I prefer the first version.
