It’s time to welcome the latest addition to the BLAST series, the Asics Sonicblast, working equally well for tempo work and daily runs. Two layers of premium foam are stacked high for a bouncy, well-cushioned experience. FF Blast Max™ foam adds cloud-like softness with a touch of responsiveness, while the new FF Turbo²™ foam offers advanced, lightweight cushioning with some bounce.
Centered within the unique midsole blend is Asics’ new Astroplate™ technology. This Pebax plate helps propel each stride forward, keeping your momentum going with a quick turnover. Of course, if you’re moving fast, you want to feel sure-footed. That’s where the ASICSGRIP™ outsole comes into play. It’s Asics’ proprietary rubber blend that was designed with a clear goal: provide optimal traction for various terrain without compromising durability.
Last but certainly not least is the engineered mesh upper used on the Asics Sonicblast. It offers a comfortable, soft feel without excess material, enhancing breathability and comfort while staying fairly lightweight. All-in-all, the Sonicblast is welcome addition to the Asics Blast series, providing a plated option for uptempo training days.

Asics Sonicblast Review
First pair of Asics running shoes I have worn in many years. The fit is true to size and they are extremely comfortable. Saw some critics reviews that the feel underfoot is more firm than desired and though the ride is firm there is adequate cushioning. I think they will hold up well over time; at least I hope so.

Excellent Plated Trainer
Really fun run once they break on a little. If you want a solid good looking played trainer this is an excellent choice.

Sonicblast the perfect companion to Novas & Super Blasts
I've really enjoyed these shoes for quick track workouts! Feel faster than my novablasts! Although I regularly use superblasts for long training runs, the sonicblasts have been my go to for fast shorter training runs!

Pros: Accommodates wider foot Upper mesh dissipates heat buildup Cons: Limited heal cushion Couldn’t lockdown heal despite multiple laces variations Limited tread life. After 30 miles, tread almost worn through high impact areas. Not a daily trainer due to these issues

Decent tempo trainer
Great tempo trainer if you are a heel striker—there is enough cushioning and bounce at the heel to transition and “roll” off for a nice transition. Unfortunately I am a forefoot striker and struggled with this shoe. Found the forefoot landing very harsh, could not activate the plastic plate for any speed assistance, and overall could not get much out of the midsole foam. Had to return these sadly, but recommend heel strikers give these a shot!
