Altra’s Long Distance Trail Shoe Gets an Ultra-Marathon Ready Upgrade

Training for an ultra-marathon? Completing most of your runs on rugged terrain? You need a shoe that can keep up with you. And the Olympus 275 HiLo is up to the task.

The Olympus 275 HiLo shares some key features with the original Olympus 275, such as the protective one-piece MATRYX upper, spacious toe box, and balanced zero-drop design. But the HiLo kicks it up a notch with a performance-ready shoe that can tackle anything you throw at it.

One of the biggest upgrades can be found under the foot, with an EGO MAX foam replacing the standard EVA foam. This update makes the shoe softer and more responsive underfoot, keeping your legs and body feeling fresh and less fatigued no matter where – or how long – your adventures go.

The Vibram Megagrip outsole also saw some refinements, with new Traction Lugs that cover more of the shoe and provide even more confidence as you traverse through slippery terrain. You can enjoy even more protection from trails due to the scree sleeve ankle collar, which acts as a mini gaiter to keep out debris and keep you comfortable and supported through every step of your trail run.
