Job Description
We are looking for a talented Email Marketing Specialist to take the lead with our email marketing strategies. Your
main duties include running email marketing campaigns end-to-end, managing email databases, and creating
newsletters. Ultimately, they should be able to promote Marathon Sports brand, products, and services to ensure
our customers stay in touch with our company updates. They will work closely with our ecommerce and
purchasing teams to provide a highly engaging user-friendly digital experience for customers of Marathon Sports.
This person should seek to understand our customers and how to communicate effectively with them. The Email
The marketing Specialist will report directly to the Marketing Manager.
Responsibilities
• Identify target audience and grow our email list
• Execute and implement direct email marketing campaign strategies
• Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling
• Ensure mobile-friendly email templates
• Write newsletters including all company updates
• Upgrade our email templates using graphics, personalization, and advanced features
• Ensure prompt and accurate communication with customers via email to minimize unsubscribes
• Create email databases for lead generation
• Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements
• Report on sales revenue generated from email marketing efforts
• Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices
• Maintain our brand voice through email marketing
Requirements and skills
• Work experience as an Email Marketing Specialist or Digital Marketing Specialist preferred
• Proficiency in marketing automation technology preferred
• Basic knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google Analytics
• Familiarity with analytical and database tools preferred
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills
• Strong project management skills
• An ability to work under tight deadlines
• BS degree in Marketing or relevant field preferred
Please note that this position will also have some responsibilities that occasionally stray from the above. These
responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting Marketing Manager in any day-to-day task, working the
sales floor, and pop-up events that take place outside the store. Events can range through any of our locations
(occasional overnight travel required). These responsibilities can also extend to other brands that fall under the
Marathon Sports umbrella.
