Hello, Everyone!
I’m going to be straight up honest with you – last week’s training did not go according to plan. At all. But sometimes, you have to accept that the universe has other ideas of how you should be spending your time.
Monday and Tuesday were lovely days for running – cool temps, some fog on morning and sunshine the next. I had planned on 4 miles for Monday and 8 on Tuesday. Both days, I ran just a little longer. I love these 7/8 adidas tights. They’re fitted, with a wide waistband, and really comfortable fabric. The color is fun, too!
Life happened on Wednesday, and I missed my run. Thursday the weather was rockin! 59 gorgeous degrees, sunny, and warm. Shorts weather for sure, but I wore capris. And I was too hot. My plan called for 5 miles, but since I missed the day before I extended it to 8.25. The adidas Energy Boost propelled me along!
Sounds like the perfect week so far, doesn’t it?
Well, we had a Nor’Easter pound us on Friday evening into Saturday. Trees down, power outages everywhere. And quite honestly, I was too scared to go outside. So, my week 6 long run did not happen on Saturday. Safety first, right?
I finished the week with a little over 20 miles.
Sometimes, you have to listen to the universe. I made another batch of my soon-to-be-famous chocolate syrup, baked some tasty granola and listened to the wind howl and roar from the comfort of my couch.
Things didn’t go according to plan, but it wasn’t so bad after all. I got some much needed rest and feel ready to tackle week 7. Let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates this week, too!
