SHOE UPDATE: Nike Pegasus 35 Running Shoe Review

THE classic running shoe continues to impress. Nike just dropped the Nike Pegasus 35 of its iconic shoe and this year’s model has some pretty cool stuff going on.

It was built based on feedback from elite athletes like Mo Farah! And it borrows some design elements from the Zoom Vaporfly 4%, a favorite of Shalane Flanagan. Here’s what we love about it:

UPDATED HEEL COLLAR

Design engineers tweaked the heel based on feedback from Mo Farah. The collar is directed away from the achilles to avoid uncomfortable friction.

BEVELED HEEL DESIGN

You may have noticed this in some other new Nike shoes as well. The heel beveling helps with landing and transition. (Plus it looks cool!)

FULL LENGTH ZOOM UNIT

Now this is the coolest part. Nike took elite technology and adapted it for the everyday runner. The full-length Nike Zoom unit was inspired by the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%. Designers combined the two airbags used in the previous Pegasus into one that mimics the shape of the 4%’s curved carbon-fiber plate. The new shape offers responsive cushioning that improves transition and flexibility.

The Nike Zoom Pegasus 35 ($119.99) is available in men’s size 9-12 and women’s size 7-10 in all Marathon Sports locations.
