What an adventure so far! This #road2boston training is no joke. I’m running 5 days a week, which isn’t a change from my non-training running plan, but the mileage. Whoa! According to my Runkeeper app, I’ve run nearly 107 miles so far this month. I should finish up February with close to 130 miles. That’s a lot for this busy mom.
If you’re a busy mom like me, and want to train for a marathon (or any organized race!), put it on your calendar. It’s easy to make excuses – “there isn’t enough time”, “work is too busy”, “my kids have too many activities right now” – but excuses don’t help you achieve your goals. I shared this quote on my Instagram account last week, “Follow Your Dreams, They Know The Way.”
My Week 5 training plan called for 2 4-Mile runs with hills, 2 6-Mile runs, and a long 16-Mile run. Week 5 was also school vacation week. Balancing my kiddo, work, and family time was slightly challenging. I took a rest day on Wednesday and woke up super early on Friday morning to run with one of my favorite running besties. Honestly, it was tough working it all in, but I feel so accomplished!
The adidas Energy Boost are quickly becoming my favorite running shoes for shorter weekday runs. They feel like slippers. And who doesn’t like slippers?! Also, I was wearing them when I found $2. They are officially my lucky shoes.

Until next time, make it a great day!
