>3/3/14: BAA Boston Marathon 2014 Apparel

48 days and counting until the 2014 Boston Marathon! A few weeks back Adidas launched their Boston Marathon 2014 apparel collection which includes a large collection of running tops, jackets, hoodies, shorts and tights. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the BAA Boston Marathon apparel this year and its main focus has been about the official colors. The 2014 Celebration Jacket made its debut in a stunning Solar Zest, a fluorescent orange with contrast blue and white striping around the shoulders and across the back. There have been a lot of mixed reviews around the colors, but personally I love it! Orange is a happy, positive color and that’s just the spirit we need going into this year’s Marathon season!

This year’s jacket will feature the BAA logo with the words “Boston Runs as One” on the back collar. This motto was conceived just days after last year’s Marathon bombings and evolved from Adidas’s “Boston Stands as One” motto.  Adidas announced that a portion of sales from the 2014 Boston Marathon Celebration Jacket will be given to the One Fund to help support the victims of the Marathon Bombing. The jackets are priced at $110.

So as you can see the marathon apparel holds a lot more value this year. It will be in high demand as the BAA has allowed an additional 9,000 runners to join the race on Marathon Monday.

A couple other great pieces to check out include the 2014 Boston Marathon Sequencials Top for both men and women. Priced at $65.

Men’s piece pictured above

It’s climacool© technology keeps you cool and dry while its formotion® technology follows the natural movement of your body while running for a more comfortable fit. The half-zip features the Boston Marathon Logo on the left side of the chest with reflective detail as well as the Adidas logo on the right.

The men’s and women’s graphic tees are another great piece to add to your Marathon collection priced at $30.

                    Women’s                                                  Men’s

The tee’s use climalite® fabric technology which wicks sweat away from your skin keeping you dry as you workout. It has a large 2014 Boston Marathon logo printed on chest and a small 2014 logo printed below back neckline.

All Marathon Sports locations currently have an assortment of marathon apparel, so stop on by and check out the great pieces!

RUN FOR LAPTOPS

A Boston Public School teacher is going to run 150 miles in the Sahara Desert in order to get her students access to working computers. To help, visit runforlaptops.org.

Liz Byron, is a special education teacher at Gardner Pilot Academy (GPA). Over 92% of the students at GPA live at or below the poverty line, and the school does not have access to fundamental technology. She will run the Marathon de Sables, a self-supported ultra marathon and the toughest footrace in the world, in order to raise $50,000 for her school. We need your support.

150 miles in the Sahara is crazy, but not providing our highest need students with access to fundamental technology is crazier.
